Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, it is my absolute pleasure to announce the end of the semester at UVU. WOOHOO!! As I mentioned last week, my final portfolio was due and I had one other final to finish before Tuesday night and that was it! Now, I know people who maybe procrastinated the majority of their final work until the very last-minute (and actually I am normally one of those people lol) but, I have to give credit to getting those projects and finals done before the last day. It is a glorious relief!
At work this week, it is Rent Week. So, we have an extra number of callers who are asking about their rent: how much they owe, when they need to pay, and so on. It is pretty entertaining to hear each of their stories and to be able to interact with such diverse people on a daily basis! Because my shift is early in the morning (starting at 5am 😴), I speak with a lot of people all over the east coast of the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Thankfully, every once in a while, someone calls in that I can actually connect with and doesn’t mind conversing for a couple of minutes. Those conversations really stick out to me, and I remember, it may have been the week before last, a girl who was about to start her first semester of college in Florida called about an apartment. As we talked about what she was looking for in a community (location, laundry, etc.), I was able to reflect on my first semester of college. I told her a couple of my experiences with roommates and classes as she expressed certain concerns about being away from family for the first time and especially for an extended period of time. It was so cool, to me, to be able to converse with this person that I have never met face to face (and will never meet face to face), and connect with them through life experiences.
Speaking of life experiences, it is wedding season 💍 and I do know a lot of other people who are getting engaged/ married over the next couple weeks but I want to give a special shout out to two of my closest friends from high school, Tyler and Blake, who got married on Friday and Saturday respectively. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to be at both of their weddings but some of my fondest memories involve the two of them. (Fun fact: Blake and I were roommates my first semester of college at BYU-Idaho in 2012 and Tyler and I were roommates when I moved to Utah in August 2017!) It has been super fun for me to see them grow and change over the last couple years, especially as they met their significant others. I wish both of them the best in this new stage of life!
Anyway, this coming week I am coming down to Arizona for my birthday/Mother’s Day/another friend’s wedding. HMU if you have any photo related needs!
Love you guys! Have a great week and thank you for liking, commenting and subscribing.
